Arriving at Bowood House, in Wiltshire, straight away we all thought what a beautiful place, I mean, it just felt royal! It was a shame that the grey clouds were lurking over. Fortunately, the rain held off for my gig, but while that was the good news, I was smacked round the face with a power cut during the set. Matt the drummer took full advantage of the situation and broke into a solo, while the rest of the band and myself starting playing frisbie with the crowd, now while that being lots of fun and all, the power came back on and we went on to nail the set.
Coming off stage, I bumped into Sam Sparro, he said he was listening to the set from the side, and enjoyed it.

After this silly picture of me, he recommended the BBQ, damn was he right!!! Cheers Sam.
Early arrival at Glastonbury! We were greeted with sunshine, WOW. The drill for me was to stay focused (meaning sober), load in and get ready to perform. Knocked the performance out the park, had a ball, however during this experience I definitely saw the disadvantage of performing in a tent while the sun is blazing, but the outcome was still very positive. A good mate of mine then went on after, ‘Natty’, and tore it…

That Saturday evening, I can’t remember much, but watching JayZ was amazing!!!
Continuing onto the next day, Sunday. I was still very hazy, which didn’t help the fact I was still hanging out with ‘Jack Daniels’ from the night before…
Please don’t ask how, but through what I think was Jedi mind trickery I made it on this stage with Mr.Ronson and the version players…
… It was emotional…

After saying bye to ‘Jack’, I said goobye to Glasto. Thank you ‘bury’ until the next time I hope.

Buzzed about playing 02 Wireless. It’s a big gig, legends have played here in Hyde Park, and also a legend is playing on this very day. None other than JayZ aka Jigga aka Hov aka Shawn Carter!
Arriving at a festival is always hectic, having to sort out passes, next by loading all the music gear out to the stage, then going back to the dressing room. However our crew always continues to stay bubbling!
Before really settling down and relaxing back at the dressing room, I had to go and do some promo here and there. While bowling around I saw and bumped into lots of familiar faces, for example I managed to catch Wiley, and congratulate him on his recent success with the single ‘Wearing My Rolex’. Then after, I bumped into ‘Rickie&Melvin’ from Kiss 100, to do a quick on the spot interview for their show, which was a laugh. Melvin sorry for giving you air on that bro!
Finally on the way heading back to the dressing room, I saw ‘Dizzie Rascal’, who I have always wanted to catch up with, because we are from the same area and know so many of the same people, but basically our meeting went something like this…

lol! Anyway, so after a phenomenal day performing to a wicked crowd, and then watching JayZ. The next day, early afternoon I received a call Dizzie. He personally wants me to open up for him at the Itunes festival this sunday at KoKo! So he did know who I was! Safe Dizzie.

Very rarely in my life I have a week where there are more than one consecutively good days after the other, but last week was one.
After playing a relaxing string of dates acoustically, the band and myself were gearing up and looking forward to getting stuck into rehearsals for the ‘Wonky Pop Tour’. However, from the very first day it was looking like these rehearsals were not going to be so straight forward, because different members of the band had other commitments on different days. So on the first we had to rehearse without our musical director, who also is the bassist. The second we had to play without the drummer, which wasn’t so bad because we planned to use this day to rehearse for the BBC Radio 2 (Dermot O’Leary Show) on the Saturday. After those slightly fragmented first couple of days, we were looking forward to having everyone together for a full band rehearsal, but behold it wasn’t to be.
Woken up by a series of missed calls, I returned one of them to be informed that I have an opportunity to appear on the Channel 4 program called the ‘Green Room’, because one of the bands had to pull out. Obviously I was over the moon, but this emotion was short lived because the thought of how the hell are we going to pull this together and organize it in just a couple of hours. After a lot of phone calls and text messaging we re-grouped and before you know we were all in a cab on our way to the studio to film, all except for the drummer, due to the time constraints of setting up. A successful an easygoing sound check, I was thrown, it felt at the time head first into the so called ‘Green Room’, which is a room made to look like a green room, where the performers wait before going on stage, but with a twist. This room is filmed, big brother style! I was honored to share this room with ‘Feeder’, ‘Natasha Bedingfield’ and the ‘Delays’. After a well received run through, another visit to the green and an online interview. I headed back to rehearsals. Yes, no rest for the wicked.
Saturday was very straight forward, no surprises, and made my way to do the interview at BBC Radio 2 on Dermot O’Leary’s show, of which I am still trying to get over. I loved it, and everyone including Dermot was extremely nice. So to round all of this off, after a couple more full band rehearsals I was due to do an interview on BBC London Radio, with Robert Elms, but to my surprise was away, and my old pal Gary Crowley covered for him, which of course made the interview like catching up with an old pal. What a week!!!
